The foundation of any education is laid on a variety of principles set. Some of these principles are objective while some are subjective. However, the Landmark Education methods have formed to inculcate transformative learning instead of informative learning. The individuals would identify their own strengths and weaknesses. Everyday we involve in communication right from the time we wake up till the time we go back to sleep at the end of the day. There are a variety of people with whom we communicate irrespective of their relationship with us, their trades or their professions.

While language seems to be the first and foremost ingredient in effective communication, body language, attitude, choice of words, etc. are the other ingredients. Use of language and vocabulary are important in communicating one’s ideas and thoughts. The Landmark Education makes use of all these ingredients; thus supporting its learning techniques. People would grasp new ideas and view things in a positively different manner. There are certain key phrases, terms and descriptions that are used in the Landmark syllabus. These phrases are used to enhance the coaching techniques thus enabling individuals to gain experience in the right manner.

One of the most common phrases is the ‘Already Always Listening’ which enable us to lend ears to others. Our upbringing and our past experiences force us to have pre-existing notions and ideas about other people. These notions can better the relationships or hamper the relationships. It is important to have unbiased feelings and thoughts about other individuals. This will help us augment our professional and personal relationships at work or at home. It is in our hands to color the relationships as we want – the brighter the better. There are a variety of techniques that would be explained to filter all such preset notions and recognize the right ones.

There is another phase that is often used in the Landmark Education Syllabus which is called ‘The Vicious Circle’. This circle has detrimental results with positive feedback on the series of events that have happened. There are many companies that do not invest in employee development but invest in new product development and market research. They might reduce the costs on executive compensation. However, the bottom line is that this would result to employee dissatisfaction and incompetence. It is important to provide constant feedback and receive feedback so as to ensure high service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The other major phrase in Landmark Education is Transformation. It is not just changing oneself but changing the outlook. Many of us get confused with these terms change and transformation. They might literally mean the same to many; however, there is a huge difference. There is an internal as well as an external change that happens permanently when an individual transforms. While change is something that is constant yet happens regularly and is usually based on past results, transformation happens based on past experiences. Transformation aims at yielding better and efficient results out of an individual and in most cases it is expansive and infinite.
